Biography
Jessica is motivated by a deep commitment to helping Arctic communities and ecosystems thrive. She believes lasting resilience comes from supporting those closest to the land, a perspective that took root during her first trip to the Arctic and has guided her ever since.
Jessica is committed to community and ecosystem resilience work and supports wildfire-related initiatives, coordinating projects, and facilitating collaboration between programs like the Alaska Wildfire Resilience Initiative and the Bristol Bay Sustainable Communities Program.
Her path to wildfire work has been shaped by both science and storytelling. Jessica holds a BA in Environmental Studies from the University of Michigan and an MFA in Creative Writing from Chatham University. She has previously worked in communications roles with organizations such as The Nature Conservancy and Nori and co-hosted the sustainability podcast “Who’s Saving the Planet?”
